About NFSS

About Us

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a rare genetic condition that can affect individuals in many visible and invisible ways, often presenting lifelong medical, emotional, and social challenges. Driven by the need to support individuals and families affected by NF and to build a more inclusive society, the Neurofibromatosis Society Singapore (NFSS) was established in 2025.

The roots of NFSS can be traced back to the first NF Awareness Day meetup held in Singapore on 15 May 2021, where individuals and families came together to share experiences and support one another. What started as a small community initiative has since grown into a broader network committed to advocacy, awareness, and support.

At present, the NFSS Executive Committee comprises 18 members, including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and medical social workers who are committed to supporting NF community in Singapore.
